THOMASVILLE — An employee making pizza at a Pavo Road convenience store Thursday night found himself on the floor hearing a demand to empty the cash register.
Two men — with their faces covered by white shirts — entered the store about 8 p.m., ordered the clerk onto the floor, emptied the cash register and ran, said. Lt. Tim Watkins, Thomas County Sheriff’s Office chief investigator.
“We believe both of them had firearms,” Watkins said.
Store surveillance video is being reviewed by investigators.
Based on footprints and tire prints, Watkins said, it appears the alleged bandits fled to a vehicle parked on nearby Patten Speedway Road. The store is about seven miles north of Thomasville.
One of the men wore a blue hoodie and blue jeans while the other wore a black shirt and black shorts.
A reward will be given for information leading to arrests and convictions in the heist.
Anyone with information is asked to call sheriff’s office dispatch at 225-3333.
