NAMI Night to explore resources
MOULTRIE, Ga. — Sam Marion, LCSW, of Family Recovery of SWGA, will speak about “Spotlight on Resources” at Tuesday evening’s meeting of the Moultrie chapter of the National Alliance on Mental Illness. The monthly meetings, called NAMI Nights, are held at 6 p.m. on the first Tuesday of each month at the First United Methodist Church Fellowship Hall; the church parking lot is at Fifth Avenue and Second Street Southeast, and visitors should enter the building under the canopy.

ABAC Performing Arts Series Features ‘The Crucible’ on February 7
TIFTON, Ga. — The stage of the Performing Arts Center at Tift County High School will be transformed into 1692 Salem during a performance of the National Players’ production of “The Crucible” on Feb. 7 as a part of Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College performing arts series. ABAC Arts Connection director Wayne Jones said doors will open at 6:30 p.m. for the 7 p.m. ABAC Presents! performance. The captivating story of “The Crucible” is set in 1692 Salem. A group of young girls, led by Abigail Williams, make claims to have seen the Devil. After charges of witchcraft, the girls are sent to the gallows. Tickets can be purchased at the door at a cost of $10 for students and $20 for adults. Tickets can be purchased in advance at www.purplepass.com/crucible. Other performances in the ABAC series include the Albany Symphony Orchestra featuring Chris Brubeck’s Triple Play on March 3, the Turtle Island String Quartet on March 28, and Byron Stripling with the ABAC Jazz Ensemble on April 18. New festival, Brainquility, coming to Spirit of the Suwannee Music Park
LIVE OAK, Fla. — Brainquility is a new festival being held for the first time at the Spirit of the Suwannee Music Park on Feb. 16-17. The event will feature two days of musical arts with more than 20 acts for endless fun. Brainquility promises to be more than just a music festival. It’s a collection of artists and producers exhibiting the very best of funk, jazz and global fusion while bringing big sounds and artists to the Spirit of the Suwannee Music Park. Featured artists are Opiuo on Saturday and Lotus on Sunday along with Boombox x2, Chachuba, Dan Fester Plays with Himself, El Dub, Flamingosis, Govinda, The Headtones, The Heavy Pets, Lespecial, Octave Cat, Roosevelt Collier, Russ Liquid, Side Trako, Space Kadet and Zach Deputy.
