Business school holding alumni event
DALTON, Ga. — The Wright School of Business hosts an alumni event on Feb. 9 at the Dalton State College Roadrunners basketball game against Blue Mountain College at 2 p.m. at the Dalton Convention Center. Complimentary reserved seating is available to the first 50 alumni who RSVP to https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/alumnibbgame. Additional reserved seats are available for family members and guests of alumni for $6 apiece.
Christian Mission in Action hosting Valentine’s luncheon
LIVE OAK, Fla. — Christian Mission in Action and Mt. Mariah IAME Church are hosting a Valentine’s luncheon next weekend. Farmers Markets to host Plant and Seed Swap
TIFTON, Ga. — The annual Plant and Seed Swap is returning to the Wiregrass Farmers Market at the Georgia Museum of Agriculture. The event is set for 9:30 — 11 a.m., Feb. 2. There is no cost for the plants or seeds. The purpose of the swap is the plants for swap are perennials to be planted in winter when dormant, such as iris, cannas, tea plants and fruit tree seedlings, according to Bret Wagenhorst with the Wiregrass Farmers Market Board of Directors. Seeds and bulbs at last year’s swap included jicama, roselle, luffa gourd, arrowroot, ginger, turmeric, Jerusalem artichoke, rain lilies, and day lilies, among others. Anyone wishing to bring plants/seeds should plan to arrive by 9:30 a.m. to set up on provided tables.
