MOULTRIE, Ga. — A Colquitt County woman’s dog apparently took a cue from McGruff the Crime Dog on Wednesday and took a bite out of crime, or more specifically out of a would-be burglar.
Brittney Birmans, of the 300 block of C.O. Kennedy Road, told police that she returned home and found the front door of her residence had been forced open. Inside the home she found blood on the floor in the living room and on her dog’s nose.
She told police that the dog must have bitten the intruder and caused them to leave without taking anything. She also reported that a neighbor saw a white Jeep Cherokee and a small black car at her residence between noon and 1 p.m.
Based on that information, Birmans was able to provide police with the possible identity of the intruder.
