“Kate Mitchell, Emily Chapura and Madison Montgomery are all seniors and all have made it to state four years in a row,” said Andy Chapura. “Caroline Harrell and Madison Gonzales are sophomores. This is there second year making state.

“This was a very good tune-up meet to get ready for our region meet. The high level of competition at this meet helped push many of the swimmers to new personal best times. I am proud of all my swimmers in how they have progressed this season.”

The Region 1-7A meet, one more chance for state qualification, will be on Friday at South Georgia State College in Douglas.

Several other swimmers were close in their times at the Lee Invitational, so coach Chapura is looking more Packers to surpass that and add to the list going to state Feb. 7-9 at Georgia Tech in Atlanta.
