LETTER TO THE EDITOR: Democrats quote Gen. Patton on border wall issue

Democrats also read Gen. Patton’s memoirs, condemning “Fixed fortifications.” General Patton was a warrior, not given to solving border security concerns. The General outlined well all faults connected to fixed fortifications (walls), he was correct in that any wall will be breached by the determined.
President Reagan called out to the Russian’s “Mr. Gorbachev, tear down this wall,” 11/9/89 a mass exodus of East Berliners poured through temporary exit points. History is abundantly clear: walls don’t work. But the Democrats are remiss in making their demands for open borders the responsibility of the voters. Voters become the ultimate debtors on the expense of created laws. The Democrats are suggesting ways to keep illegal immigrants out. (The Secure Fence Act of 2006 authorized Congress to spend $1.2 billion to construct 700 miles of wall along the U.S. Mexico border.) Instead the $1.2 billion should be spent on economic revitalization programs in Mexican border cities say the Dems. They want U.S. construction companies to hire Mexican workers to build power plants, roads, factories, bridges etc. they could finally build a sewer system that works. If they have jobs, they would not come here. With all the jobs created in Mexico, there would be an emigration of migrant workers back to Mexico.

Isn’t that really what we all want?
Democrats are saying that defense is totally backward. The solution is offense. This Congress is quoting a WW II Gen. Patton. This 116th U.S. Congress should understand: we’re not at war with Mexico and the several South American countries who insist on open disregard of our right to say who crosses our borders. This 116th Congress is sending an aid package of $54 billion for global distribution to President Trump for signature. Right, wrong or otherwise the American voters have a say in this 116th congressional action on border control. Europe is besieged with border crashers who suffer human rights offense, just like the good people of South America and Mexico. They suffer exactly the same way that we did under English rule. We owe our founding fathers allegiance by defending our borders.
Annually aid packages go out to countries that squander our good intentions. instead of using the money to build a better quality of life for its citizens. To accomplish our goals globally there is not enough money generated through our GNP to cover the expense. Globally we are speeding toward April 4th, 1984 (Geo. Orwell), for an unwanted “One World Government” dispensed by the United Nations. Wake up, America. Defend our borders with all your might.
