Chief Vincent Robinson is back at work following a suspension. 

JENNINGS, Fla. — Jennings Police Chief Vincent Robinson has been suspended until Wednesday.

The suspension came after the Jennings Town Council meeting Thursday night. 

Hamilton County resident Robert Marvin alleged during the meeting that Robinson, while in line for Burger King at State Road 6, paid for Marvin’s 18-year-old daughter’s meal in the drive-thru and gave her his card with the message to call him.

Robinson denied telling the daughter to call him. He said he just wanted to pay for the meal because somebody had paid for his. 

Robinson and Town Manager George Glover met following the council meeting.

“He was very disrespectful and insubordinate following the meeting,” Glover said. 

Glover sent Robinson home for the rest of the evening and later suspended him pending a meeting Wednesday with Mayor John Prine. Robinson’s status will be determined at that meeting.

“Insubordination will not be tolerated,” Glover said, reiterating that Robinson’s conduct following the meeting was disrespectful and will not be tolerated.

The Jennings Police Department employs one full-time and one part-time officer besides Robinson.

“The town will not be uncovered during the chief’s suspension,” Glover said.

Robinson declined to comment on the suspension at this time.
