CAIRO — Cairo Police and the Georgia Bureau of Investigation are looking into a Tuesday morning death.

According to Cairo Police Chief Keith Sandefur, officers were dispatched to a 6th Street SW home around 11 a.m. on the report of an unresponsive male. When officers arrived, they found the body of Donald Vandegriff, 62, within the residence. 

The case is being treated as a homicide because of the visible injuries sustained, according to authorities.
