MOULTRIE, Ga. — A motorcyclist who crashed into a fence Thursday afternoon in Ellenton remained in a Thomasville hospital on Friday where he was listed in fair condition.
William Ben Dosier crashed a 2007 Suzuki at about 6 p.m. on Thursday, according to the Georgia State Patrol, which investigated the accident.
The call initially came out as a police chase, but there was no record that any Colquitt County law enforcement agency engaged in a pursuit of Dosier, GSP Trooper First Class Michael Moses said.
The motorcyclist apparently entered Colquitt County on Highway 37.
“He turned right on Ellenton-Omega Road and he wrecked and hit a fence,” Moses.
Dosier left the roadway in close proximity to a Dollar General store in the city.
Dosier, 44, whose suspended driver’s license gave a Morven address but is believed to live in Cook County, had a broken leg and other injuries but they are not thought to be life-threatening, Moses said.
As of Friday, the GSP had filed no charges against Dosier in connection with the accident.
Dosier was listed in fair condition on Friday at Archbold Memorial Hospital, a hospital spokeswoman said.
