LETTER TO THE EDITOR: Moultrians’ generosity has a ripple effect

Because of the extraordinary efforts of Robert Hutson and the entire team at Robert Hutson Ford and of Darlene Cox, who was led by God to start a non-profit fittingly named Fish and Loaves and use it to help many great causes and the generosity of the citizens in the communities involved, we have new dependable transportation in place and in service between the Valdosta CBOC and the Lake City VA, and what an improvement it is!
In fact along with the new transportation and because of the publicity, we have also had others volunteer to drive increasing the number of volunteer drivers to nine, insuring even more that transportation is and will be available to our veterans.
Also because of our success in acquiring transportation the Georgia Chapter of DAV has agreed to furnish new transportation for the Waycross CBOC in 2019 and we have also been asked to meet with a group of citizens in St. Marys, Ga. and tell about how everyone came together.
See, it’s contagious — all to help our veterans make their appointments seventy miles from home.
Unlike Valdosta or Waycross, St Marys has no transportation at all, but like Moultrie they do have a lot of people who appreciate their veterans and show it in their support.
So on behalf of all who are better off because of your generosity: Thank You All.
