Lowndes school board members will discuss and vote on LHS construction plans, according to an email from Lowndes County Schools.

In the last few months, board members have discussed and voted on matters related to the construction project, with main concerns around choosing a construction management firm.

The last discussion and vote related to the project was done at the Sept. 10 and 17 board meetings, when the board members approved JCI to be the construction management firm on the project.

Construction at the high school is expected to begin June 2019. During construction, the county plans to have temporary classrooms in place while construction occurs during the 2019-20 school year.

The planned project will renovate and replace the current facility off Norman Drive.
