DALTON, Ga. — A woman who claimed she shot and killed her father for molesting her son was indicted for murder recently by the Whitfield County grand jury.

Hannah Celese Henderson, 25, was indicted by the November grand jury on two counts of murder, aggravated assault (family violence), possession of a firearm during commission of a crime and possession of meth.

Henderson called 911 on Oct. 13 and told an operator she had shot 50-year-old George Samuel Henderson “because he was molesting my son. I walked in and saw him.” A news release from Whitfield County Sheriff Scott Chitwood at the time said the “evidence collected at the scene did not support” Henderson’s version.

District Attorney Bert Poston presented the indictment to the grand jury, writing that Henderson shot her father with a Ruger LCP .380 caliber gun in the head “with malice aforethought,” meaning the district attorney is claiming the killing was premeditated. No motive for the killing is given in the indictment papers.

According to an incident report from the sheriff’s office, George Henderson was found lying on the floor of the kitchen at the home at 4045 S. Dixie Highway. A pistol was found beside George Henderson with bloody footprints leading from the kitchen to the carport.

Hannah Henderson is being held at the Whitfield County jail without bond.

In other indictments from the grand jury:

• Jason Kelly Velton, 40, 1109 W. Emery St., Dalton, was indicted on two counts of invasion of privacy for taking pictures of a nude woman while she was sleeping and sending the pictures out on a text.

• Kevin Thomas Massengale, 31, 416 Vann Circle, Dalton, was indicted for rape, aggravated assault (family violence), aggravated sodomy, battery (family violence), criminal trespass and cruelty to children in the third degree. Massengale has been held at the Whitfield County jail since his arrest in September on aggravated assault charges. The indictment says that Massengale choked his wife in front of their child and also raped his wife on the same day.
