Stove fire heavily damages house

MOULTRIE, Ga. — A Moultrie family was out of their home Thursday after a morning fire sparked by a stove caused heavy damage.
The Moultrie Fire Department was dispatched at 11:11 a.m. to the 709 Seventh St. N.W. residence of Inez Spivey, agency reports said.
There, firefighters found medium to heavy smoke showing at the wood-frame single-family residence. Spivey and her daughter were out of the house.
The blaze caused heavy fire and heat damage to the kitchen, fire reports said, and heavy heat and smoke damage to the rest of the residence.
Spivey told firefighters they had been cooking on the stove.
Paramedics checked Spivey out at the scene, police said.
