Lankford Drive murder suspect arrested

VALDOSTA – A suspect wanted in a Lankford Drive shooting death was arrested during the weekend in Florida.
Ian Rashad Henry, 23, of Valdosta was arrested in Melbourne, Fla., according to the Valdosta Police Department Monday morning.
Police issued an arrest warrant in late November charging Henry with felony murder in the Nov. 12 death of Stephen Styles, 40, according to the Valdosta Police Department.
The Melbourne Police Department arrested Henry Saturday, Dec. 1, and he is being held there pending extradition to Lowndes County, according to the VPD.
E-911 operators received a call at 12:44 a.m., Nov. 12, about a shooting at the Blanton Common apartment complex in the 1500 block of Lankford Drive, according to a statement from the Valdosta Police Department.
Police officers and Lowndes County sheriff’s deputies responded and found Styles in the parking lot, the statement said.
He was pronounced dead at the scene, according to the statement.
Detectives and crime-scene technicians with the Valdosta/Lowndes Regional Crime Laboratory were called to the scene, police said.
