Doerun Christmas event adds live Nativity Dec. 1

DOERUN, Ga. — Doerun’s annual Christmas in the Park is adding a new feature this year: a live Nativity.

The festival is scheduled for 1 to 9 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 1, in Bicentennial Park in Doerun, but the live Nativity will be staged only 5 to 7 p.m.

“Come experience the true meaning of Christmas,” organizers said in a press release.

There will also be entertainment, food, arts and crafts vendors and a visit from Santa Claus.

The community Christmas tree will be lit during the event.

Some of the entertainment will be:  4 after 5 band, Brooke Pate, Beverly & Caitlyn Sutton and Cori Beth Brown, Randall Hooks, Cassie Taylor and Brian Holt.

Big G’s and Henry Concessions will provide food along with vendors selling boiled peanuts, kettle korn, funnel cakes, gator on a stick, hot chocolate and much more, organizers said.

A variety of vendors will also be on hand to handle your shopping needs, such as Christmas wreaths, homemade candies, Ruby-Ellens  Boutique, handmade jewelry, Paparazzi Jewelry,  wood crafts, furniture, glass bird feeders, Scentsy wax warmers, baby clothes, Bath Bombs soaps and lotions, door hangers, kids hair bows, kids toys and much more.  

The second annual Doerun Christmas ornaments will be on sale, featuring the Doerun High School.

“For the kids we will have bouncy houses, holiday face painting, cotton candy and that special Christmas guest, Santa Claus!” the organizers said.
