- Visitors mingle during Cocktails and Candycanes, a fund-raising event for the Colquitt County Arts Center, on Thursday, Nov. 15. Part of the event was the opening of the Holiday Shoppe.
We are in the holiday spirit here at the Arts Center now that the 2018 Colquitt County Arts Center Holiday Shoppe is officially open! This year there is a wonderful variety of work available for sale with the Shoppe featuring work created by over 20 talented local artists. There is truly something for everyone here! To name a few, we have wood turned bowls and vessels by both Chris Kudela and Jim Cox, colorful paintings by Kathy Nelson, alcohol inks and watercolors by Harvie Ann Cox, hand blown glass by Devan Cole, stained glass by Connie Fritz, and much much more. This annual event is unlike any other gallery exhibit we have on view throughout the year, and it is the perfect opportunity to find a one of a kind gift while also supporting local artists, so stop by the Vereen Gallery and take a look at all of the wonderful pieces we have available for purchase! The Holiday Shoppe is open during Arts Center business hours and will be in the Vereen Gallery until Dec. 21.
The Holiday Shoppe is not the only event that has us in the holiday spirit here at the Arts Center. We are also looking forward to the 2018 United Way Holiday Show, “Celebrate! Holiday Skits and Songs.” This show is the perfect way to jump into Christmas. It will feature skits and songs performed by local talent of all ages. “Celebrate! Holiday Skits and Songs” will be performed on Monday, Dec. 7, at 7 p.m. and tickets are FREE, so don’t miss out on this cheery show!
