Colquitt Christian Academy holds annual race, delayed by hurricane

MOULTRIE, Ga. — The 3rd Annual Colquitt Christian Academy Pumpkin Patch 5k and Children’s Race was held at Calvary Baptist Church on Saturday, Nov. 3. The race was originally scheduled for Oct. 13, but was postponed due to Hurricane Michael.

Nearly 40 people completed the 5k race and approximately 25 youngsters participated in the children’s race and obstacle course. Many others came out to cheer on the racers, volunteer and enjoy other race day festivities, including bouncy houses, face painting and children’s games. Chick-fil-A of Moultrie, Publix Super Markets and BrainStorm Marketing provided breakfast including chicken biscuits, fresh fruit and iced cold bottled water.

Drawings for door prizes featuring fantastic gift items donated by local families & merchants were given away throughout the morning to lucky race participants.

Founded in 2015, CCA relies heavily on community support and outside donations to operate and provide a classical Christian education to students. Kelly Coyle, head of school, said, “CCA encourages every student to develop a love for learning and live up to their full academic potential.”

Colquitt Christian Academy is accredited by the Georgia Accrediting Commission and is a member of both the Georgia Independent School Association (GISA) and the Georgia Independent Christian Athletic Association (GICAA).
