The South Georgia Governmental Services Authority will hold its regular meeting at 2 p.m. Monday, Nov. 26, in the Mayors Conference Room, City of Thomasville, 111 Victoria Place in Thomasville.

Call for auditions

The Colquitt County Arts Center Theater will hold auditions for “The Cemetery Club” at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Dec, 11.

The delightful comedy is the story of three Jewish widows who meet once a month for tea before going to visit their husbands’ graves. Ida is sweet tempered and ready to begin a new life; Lucille is a feisty embodiment of the girl who just wants to have fun; and Doris is priggish and judgmental, particularly when Sam the butcher enters the scene. He meets the widows while visiting his wife’s grave. Doris and Lucille squash the budding romance between Sam and Ida. They are guilt-stricken when this nearly breaks Ida’s heart.

Performances will be held on Feb. 15-17, 2019.

Country Jamboree

The Staggerwing Country Jamboree is every Friday night at 7 p.m. at Spence Field in Maule Pilot lounge at the lake hangar. It offers round and line dancing and the music is provided by new band leader Luke Folsom and by other specials. Admission is free and there is no drinking. American Legion

American Legion Post 324 meets the third Tuesday of every month in the back of the Museum of Colquitt County History. Members socialize with Cokes and pizza from 6 to 7 p.m. and meet from 7 to 8. All veterans are welcome.
