MHS Class of 1955

The Moultrie High School Class of 1955 will not meet in November. The class will hold its Christmas dinner at 5 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 1, at J. Harvey’s.

Rec Authority

The Moultrie-Colquitt County Parks and Recreation Authority will hold a called meeting at 7:30 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 14, at the Ryce Community Center, 305 Seventh St. N.W., to consider a proposal for consulting, engineering and design services for Moss Farms Diving and the Southwest Memorial Pool renovation.

Governmental Services Authority

The South Georgia Governmental Services Authority will hold its regular meeting at 2 p.m. Monday, Nov. 26, in the Mayors Conference Room, City of Thomasville, 111 Victoria Place in Thomasville.

Call for auditions

The Colquitt County Arts Center Theater will hold auditions for “The Cemetery Club” at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Dec, 11.

The delightful comedy is the story of three Jewish widows who meet once a month for tea before going to visit their husbands’ graves. Ida is sweet tempered and ready to begin a new life; Lucille is a feisty embodiment of the girl who just wants to have fun; and Doris is priggish and judgmental, particularly when Sam the butcher enters the scene. He meets the widows while visiting his wife’s grave. Doris and Lucille squash the budding romance between Sam and Ida. They are guilt-stricken when this nearly breaks Ida’s heart.

Performances will be held on Feb. 15-17, 2019.
