Alex Rang gets ahead of the defense during Suwannee's varsity versus JV scrimmage.

LIVE OAK, Fla. — The Suwannee boys soccer team is one week away from the start of the regular season and a Nov. 13 home tilt against Columbia.

The Bulldogs have a wealth of experience with nine seniors, as well as some up and coming underclassmen.

“With the talent that we have, we should do very well this year,” said Suwannee coach Chris Joyner. “This team is really loaded as far as defense and midfield.”

Joyner pointed to upperclassmen Alex Rang, Yimmy Alvarez, Carlos Ambriz and Joseph Royero as players to watch this season. While those are a few of the standout players, Joyner was also excited about the team’s depth.

“We’re loaded with returning talent,” he said.

Keep an eye on Rang, who should be one of the leading goal-scorers and have a shot to play collegiate soccer in the future.

The Bulldogs got things kicked off on Saturday with a Green and White scrimmage between the varsity and JV.
