LIVE OAK — Suwannee’s home football game against Paxon is on the move once again.

Originally scheduled as homecoming for Friday, the game was moved to Monday due to Hurricane Michael’s impending impact on north Florida.

However, school officials from Paxon requested the game instead be moved to Saturday and as of Tuesday afternoon it is now slated for 6 p.m. Saturday at Langford Stadium.

“Anytime you can get away from playing two games in a five-day period, that’s a good thing,” Suwannee coach Kyler Hall said. “Now, preparation is going to be less. I told the guys to watch some film on Hudl. We’ll get out on the field on Friday.”

Suwannee schools are out for the rest of the week with classes canceled through Thursday due to the storm and a teacher work day planned for Friday.

The Bulldogs’ homecoming game is now slated for Oct. 26 when Madison County visits. Suwannee is also slated to visit Yulee on Oct. 19.

“Looking at the positive side, we’ll have a chance to heal physically,” Hall said about playing the game two days earlier before the next division game. “Hopefully we’ll get the game in Saturday. If not, we’ll play Monday and then prepare for Yulee.”
