Murray County High School remains winless on the season after falling to Ringgold on Homecoming night, 49-7.

The Indians (0-7, 0-4 in Region 6-3A) had trouble finding any rhythm on offense, scoring their only touchdown late in the fourth quarter. Running back Brendan Owenby scored on a 15-yard run.

Murray County also faltered with two interceptions and two fumbles on the night.

“When you turn the ball over four times you don’t deserve to win,” Murray County coach Chad Brewer said. “Sometimes we are just shooting ourselves in the foot.”

Brewer said he was also frustrated by missed opportunities. The Indians were trailing 14-0, when a touchdown was called back on a holding call.

“We had a game going, but instead of it being close it turned into 28-0 deficit at halftime,” Brewer said. “That’s probably the fourth time we’ve had touchdown called back this season. It’s just poor execution.”

Murray County travels to Calhoun Friday.

“We have to continue to work. We still have three games left to go,” Brewer said. “The season is not over. That’s all we can do.”
