Rev. Alford to speak at fall revival

MOULTRIE, Ga. — Live Oak Missionary Baptist Church will observe its annual Fall Revival at 7 p.m. Monday-Wednesday, Oct. 1-3.
Churches on the program include Monday, Bethlehem Schley Missionary Baptist Church and Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church; Tuesday, Pleasant Hill Missionary Baptist Church and Norman Grove Missionary Baptist Church; and Wednesday, Live Oak Missionary Baptist Church.

Guest messenger will be the Rev. Tremaine Omar Alford Sr..
Alford was born Aug. 17, 1976, in Bridgeport, Conn., to Melvin Dixon and Dorothy E. Alford-Carr. He was raised in Albany and Sylvester, Ga., and was educated in the Dougherty County School System. He started going to church as a little boy with his grandmother, the late Mary Garner Alford, and his great-aunt, the late Minnie L. Dollarson.
He was baptized on Aug. 28, 1985, during a revival meeting.
He joined the Antioch Missionary Baptist Church of Albany under the leadership of the Rev. George Leon Daniels, presently under the leadership of the pastor, the Rev. Kurt Bland.
He has served on many auxiliary ministries and sung with various choirs of Southwest Georgia.
In March 1992 he was called to preach and he was ordained in 2002. He has pastored several churches in the surrounding area, including Beautiful Light MBC in Camilla, Mt. Airy MBC in Shellman, Mt. Bethel MBC in Cordele and Springhill MBC in Tippittville, Ga. Presently he is pastoring Mt. Pilgrim MBC in Thomasville.

He is the husband of Tonya McCullough-Alford and has five children, Tremaine Jr., Michelle, TiaMya, Rayonnia and Mercer.
He is also the recording gospel artist of the song “God Is a Battle Axe.”
