DAHLONEGA, Ga. — The opportunities for expanding global knowledge at the University of North Georgia (UNG) continue to grow as new programs are added. During this summer alone, 234 UNG students participated in study abroad and international internships. For the 2018-19 academic year, UNG has 36 active programs in 15 countries.

Jordyn Paramore of Doerun, Ga., studied Spanish in Nerja, Spain, during summer 2018. Paramore is a senior majoring in psychology.

“Studying abroad is a great way to obtain personal and intellectual growth, career inspiration, work experience, language acquisition, and intercultural understanding,” UNC said in a press release. “Study abroad changes lives, and preparing students to be leaders in a global society is part of UNG’s mission.”

UNG will celebrate its international programs and partnerships with various events Nov. 12-16 in recognition of International Education Week, a joint initiative of the U.S. Department of State and Department of Education to promote programs that prepare Americans for a global environment.

Graduation

KENNESAW, Ga. — Kennesaw State University recently welcomed its newest class of graduates. Over 1,300 students earned bachelor’s, master’s or doctoral degrees during Summer 2018 commencement ceremonies in July.

Among them were Vickie Garrick of Norman Park and Lyndsay Oxley of Moultrie.

A leader in innovative teaching and learning, Kennesaw State University offers more than 150 undergraduate, graduate and doctoral degrees to its more than 35,000 students. With 13 colleges on two metro Atlanta campuses, Kennesaw State is a member of the University System of Georgia and the third-largest university in the state.

President’s List

KENNESAW, Ga. — Madeline Kline of Moultrie was recently named to the President’s List at Kennesaw State University.

Kline was among the more than 600 Kennesaw State students who were honored for academic excellence in the Summer 2018 semester. To be named to the President’s List, each student must have satisfactorily completed at least 9 semester hours with a term grade point average of 4.0.
