MOULTRIE, Ga. — Six weeks into the school year Colquitt Christian Academy has found its footing and hit the ground running.
Since the start of the school year in August, they have enrolled three more students and are getting calls about space for even more, school officials said.
Head of school Kelly Coyle is grateful for the success of the school year so far.
“We are six weeks in the school year, and things are going really well. We have continued interest in the school, we’ve added three new students, and we are talking to some other parents about adding more,” said Coyle. “Everybody is interested in who we are and what we are doing. We are at the point where we may have to look at enrollment when it comes to capacity in our current location.”
The school will be starting a clay target shooting team and a swim team that may be ready in a few weeks, Coyle said.
CCA is also getting their gifted program off the ground as they tested last year and are currently looking forward to testing the next group of students.
A 5K Pumpkin Patch race, which has been a staple in the community, is scheduled for 8 a.m. Oct. 13.
“The staff has been handling it well,” said Coyle. “They are trying to integrate the new students into what they are already doing. Of course, extra students mean extra desks and extra curriculum that needs to be purchased; however, they are very supportive and just want every child to succeed.”
CCA is grateful for parental support too, Coyle.
“We encourage parents to be involved in the education process,” she said. “We want them to know that you’re part of this process and I think that is one thing that we have going for us and I’m happy we can help.”
