MOULTRIE, Ga. — Former Colquitt County FFA member and 2016-2017 Georgia State FFA Officer Morgan Hart will be representing the state of Georgia as a national officer candidate.
Hart will be representing more than 45,000 Georgia FFA members as well as Colquitt County this fall at the National FFA Convention in Indianapolis, Indiana.
“We are extremely proud of Morgan being chosen and excited for the magnitude of this accomplishment. As far as I know, this will be the first national officer candidate ever from Colquitt County,” said Colquitt County High ag teacher Adrienne Smith.
Each state can submit a representative and if elected Morgan will travel nearly 100,000 miles across the United States and to Japan advocating for the agricultural industry and FFA.
“Morgan is a hard working young man,” said Ben Lastly, executive secretary of the Georgia FFA Association. “I continue to be impressed by his commitment to this goal, and I believe he has a great opportunity to be elected.”
Morgan is currently attending the University of Georgia majoring in agricultural education and is the son of David and Kelly Hart.
