MOULTRIE, Ga. — A Colquitt County man faces drunk-driving charges after police responded to a report that he was backing his truck into his house after his wife refused to let him in.

When deputies were dispatched at about 6:33 a.m. to the 1800 block of Sylvester Highway they found Juan Ambrosio Perez sitting in a Ford F-150 pickup truck. Asked to exit the truck, Perez approached officers holding an opened can of beer, sheriff’s reports said.

Before their arrival Ashley Carter-Perez, who made the initial call to 911, called back to report that her husband had started driving the truck into the residence.

She told police that Perez had been out drinking all night and got angry when she refused to let him inside upon his returning home.

Deputies noted damage to the back porch, skid marks and a shrub that had been run over. The railing, skirting and grill on or around the porch were damaged, police said.

A breath alcohol test at Colquitt County Jail indicated that Perez’s blood alcohol content was .225, more than double the .08 level at which a driver is considered impaired.

Perez, 33, 1830 Sylvester Hwy., was charged with driving under the influence. It was his second arrest on that charge, police said.
