Student numbers are actually up
“To the ranter who thinks that public school enrollment is down, I encourage you to visit nces.ed.gov and enlighten yourself to the actual number of students in public schools. They even put it in a nice graph so that you can understand it. Education is a wonderful thing!”
Writing on the bridge
“I just wanted to let Toni, Romasa, Aily, Gary, Cody know buy you writing your names on the bridge letting people know you “wuz” here on Smithwick Bridge Road, you are destroying public property. Why did you use white paint? Why not purple.”
Land acquisition for highway
“Why is Dept. of Transportation taking homes on Hwy. 133-N. when there is plenty of unused land across from these homes. Seem like they targeting homes that they see under 80k. But rude awaking I am tax payer with a awesome paying job. Lawyer up I go.”
Weed killer worked too well
“I live across the road from a farm. The farmer sprayed deadly grass and weed killer, which worked great. Ruined my figs, grapes, tomatoes, most of my flower blooms.
“I called his house. No answer.
“That’s OK. God’s judgment don’t need the telephone.”
Beer and wine on the Square
“City council: Don’t approve beer and wine for special events on the Square.
“The last report on alcohol said one drink can affect a person’s health.
“This event should be a family event, not a parade of people drinking. The police and sheriff’s department already have enough to do. All we see is beer and wine signs in Colquitt Co. Don’t add to this.”
