Rev. Moore to speak at Grant Chapel A.M.E.

MOULTRIE, Ga. — Grant Chapel AME Church, 318 W. Central Ave., invites the public to Family and Friends Day at 4 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 26.

The theme will be “Still Standing, By Walking in Faith and Favor.” The Rev. Kevin T. Moore will be the speaker.

Moore is the senior pastor of Bethel A.M.E. Church in Albany, Ga. He is a third generational preacher and believes that the word of God has life changing power.

Moore attended Morris Brown College in Atlanta, where he received his Bachelor of Science degree in organizational management and leadership with a concentration in religious studies. Moore completed the three-year Masters of Divinity Degree program at the Interdenominational Theological Center in Atlanta — with honors — in two years. In May of 2011, he was ordained itinerant elder in the African Methodist Episcopal Church.

Moore has served as the Connectional Worship Leader as well as the Connectional Evaluation Chair for the Young People’s Department of the African Methodist Episcopal Church. He has also served as an Ella Baker Trainer for the Children’s Defense Fund and the Black Community Crusade for Children in Washington, D.C. He worked very closely with Marion Wright-Edelman as a community activist advocating for the wellbeing of children across the nation.
