THOMASVILLE, Ga. — A Mitchell County resident was shot in the foot, and a Florida woman’s vehicle was shot at as she left a Thomasville nightspot, according to police reports.
At 11:45 p.m. Friday, police responded to a service station at 1334 West Jackson St. to assist Thomas County Sheriff’s Office deputies with crowd control. Deputies told police a vehicle at the site had been shot at.
The 46-year-old victim told police said that as she left The Rendezvous, 222 Gordon Ave., her vehicle was shot at, said Maj. Wade Glover, Thomasville Police Department public information officer.
The, woman, a Quincy, Florida, resident told police she heard gunfire.
“Her window got shattered by a bullet in the drivers side window,” Glover said, adding that three projectiles struck the vehicle.
Glover said officers found 9mm bullets in the car.
A short time later, early Saturday morning, police were contacted by a Mitchell County Hospital employee who said a man shot in Thomasville was at the Camilla hospital.
“It was learned the victim had been shot in his foot,” Glover said.
The man, 22, a Mitchell County resident, said he had been at the Rendezvous when an altercation began in the parking lot.
“During the altercation, there was screaming, and people started running and scattered,” Glover said. “He said that as he ran behind a building, a bullet entered his shoe and went into his foot.”
The victim was taken from the Camilla hospital to Archbold Memorial Hospital in Thomasville for treatment.
“We believe it was random shootings by the same people,” Glover said
