LIVE OAK, Fla. — Suwannee High football coach Kyler Hall visited with the Rotary Club of Live Oak on Monday to discuss the upcoming season.

Some of topics Hall delved into were the Bulldogs’ offseason program, the amount of support the team receives from the community and the changes Suwannee will feature this season on offense and defense.

Hall also went into detail about the improvements in the Suwannee High weight room. During Christmas break, SHS put in brand new equipment for a weight room that now has a capacity for around 80 people.

Making those improvements provided motivation to the football team and helped start what was a good offseason.

“When we got back from Christmas break, that was kind of the spark that got our kids going,” Hall said of the new weight room. “When they stepped foot in there, their level of pride and excitement went through the roof.

“And so from January until now, these guys have gotten after it. Best spring so far since I’ve been here.”

Hall expressed his gratitude to members of the Rotary Club and the entire community for helping support the team. Whether it’s volunteering to cook food for the team or inquiring about equipment needs, Hall said he constantly receives calls from people in the community who want to help.

“We have it better than anybody else. In the community, so many people want to reach out and serve and support our football team and our young men,” Hall said. “That means the world to me knowing that we have the type of people in this community that want to support the program.”

The third-year SHS head coach and former Florida State safety discussed some of the changes coming to the field this season. Those changes should make Bulldog football even more exciting.

“We’re a no-huddle offense. Everything is signaled in. Everything is fast,” Hall said. “It puts defenses in a bind.

“With our personnel on offense, we can go from empty set with no running backs, to a two-back set, tight end set, trips, doubles — we can go multiple formations and never have to change personnel on the field. Hopefully give defenses a lot of fits.”
