Benefit program
Sinner Friend Missionary Baptist Church is sponsoring a benefit program for Patricia “Pat” Snead, who is undergoing cancer treatment.
The program features “The Four Gospel Writers” with four preachers: The Rev. Charles Moore, pastor of The New Bethel Church of Coolidge; the Rev. Randy Smith, pastor of Rosedale Church of Boston, Ga.; the Rev. Tony Brown, pastor of Shiloh Church of Pecan, Ga.; and the Rev. John W. Greene Jr., pastor of Live Oak and Bethlehem Schley Missionary Baptist Church of Moultrie and Pleasant Hill Missionary Baptist Church of Funston.
It will be held at 5 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 18, at Sinner Friend Missionary Baptist Church. The Rev.W.B. Sales is pastor and the Rev. Tony Brown is chairperson.
Democratic Committee
The Colquitt County Democratic Committee is hosting a listen-up session at 6 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 23, at the Colquitt County Arts Center. Ryan Mintz, Democratic State Campaign field coordinator, will facilitate the session.

Men and Women Day
Macedonia Baptist Church will celebrate its annual Men and Women Day at 3 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 19. The speaker for the women will be Sister Margaret Knighton, and the speaker for the men will be Deacon Donald Reeves. Music will be provided by the Union Missionary Baptist Church choir.
UGA admissions team
The University of Georgia admissions team will continue its tradition of traveling extensively across Georgia this fall to meet with students, families and high school counselors. The team will be at Colquitt County High School 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 21. Anyone interested in attending should register online at http://www.peachstatetour.org.
The Villagers
It Takes A Village and the Villagers meets every fourth Monday of the month. The executive board meeting is held at 5:30 p.m., and the regular meeting is held at 6 p.m.
All members are asked to be present and volunteers and visitors are welcome.
