Back to school bash

“Pete’s Groovy Back to School Bash” is scheduled for 11 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 18, at the Main Street  Park.

This program will feature live music and Pete the Cat book performances by Jennifer Daniels, plus Sno Cones and face painting. It’s free and open to the public.

This program is sponsored by the Moultrie-Colquitt County Library System and the United Way of Colquitt County, in partnership with the Moultrie-Colquitt County Parks & Recreation Authority.

Country Jamboree

The Staggerwing Country Jamboree is every Friday night at 7 p.m. at Spence Field in Maule Pilot lounge at the lake hangar. It offers round and line dancing and the music is provided by new band leader Luke Folsom and by other specials. Admission is free and there is no drinking. Men’s choir

The Colquitt County Men’s Choir meets at 7 p.m., on Mondays, in the choir room at First Baptist Church. The choir is open to men ages 16 years and up.

Masonic lodge

Masonic Lodge 381 F&AM meets at 7:30 p.m. on the first and third Mondays of every month. The group meets at 617 Fifth Ave. S.E. For more information, email simplythebest@windstream.net.
