Victim, suspect named in Alapaha shooting

ALAPAHA, Ga. — The Georgia Bureau of Investigation has released the names of the victim and the suspect in a fatal Wednesday shooting in Alapaha, according to our news partners at WALB.
Patricia Michelle Deboyd, 26, died from apparent gunshot wounds on Wednesday, according to the GBI.
The GBI said the Berrien County Sheriff’s Office received a call that someone had been shot around 3:10 p.m in the 1300 block of Highway 158 in Alapaha.
When deputies arrived, the GBI said they found Deboyd’s body and Roger Lee Tabor Jr., 30, near the residence.
Tabor was arrested and taken to the Berrien County Jail.
Berrien County Sheriff Ray Paulk said Tabor has been charged with malice murder, four counts aggravated assault, possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and three counts child cruelty.
Deboyd’s body will be taken to the GBI Medical Examiner’s Office for an autopsy, according to the GBI.
