Church plans back-to-school event

MOULTRIE, Ga. — Seedtime and Harvest Church will hold a Back to School Outreach at 11 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 4, at the church, 1155 Sixth St. S.E.
There will be a speaker, praise dancers, school supplies, clothing and more.
The event will be free.
Other back-to-school events that have been announced include:
• Greater Newton Grove Cathedral, 722 Second Ave. N.W., will hold a Back to School Fun Day at 10 a.m. Saturday July 28. The free event will feature games, face-painting, school supplies for grades K-7, a waterslide and food. For more information or to make a donation, call (229) 429-9934.
• Colquitt County Arts Center will hold Teachers Appreciation Day 4-5:30 p.m. Tuesday, July 31. Donations of school supplies for teachers can be dropped off at the Arts Center, South Georgia Banking Company and the Moultrie-Colquitt County Library — or you can call the Colquitt County Arts Center at (229) 985-1922.
• Windstream, 537 Veterans Parkway N.E., is collecting school supplies through Aug. 17 to give to the Boys and Girls Club of Moultrie and Colquitt County.
• Colquitt County Schools will hold open house events Aug. 2, except for the Achievement Center, which will hold open house Aug. 6. Classes start Aug. 6 except at the Achievement Center, where they begin Aug. 8. See the schedule at http://www.colquitt.k12.ga.us/ for details.
