MOULTRIE, Ga. — An Arizona salesman thought two boys were interested in some testing tutorial materials he was selling Thursday in their neighborhood, but their interest apparently was in taking his bicycle.

Eric Smith, 19, of Cottonwood, Ariz., reported that while selling PSAT and SAT preparation books door to door he saw two boys who were not together at the time, one on a bicycle and the other walking. One stopped to talk to him and the two boys waved at each other.

After stopping at a residence in the 900 block of Highland Boulevard, the two boys told him they were interested in the books and would like to speak with their parents, so he followed them to another residence. When they got there they told him that their parents were not there yet.

As Smith showed them the books, one of the boys got on his bicycle and rode away on 11th Street Southwest. Smith tried to chase the boy down but was unable to do so.

Smith told police the bicycle was worth $50.
