MACON, Ga. – Mercer University recently announced the President’s List and Dean’s List for the spring 2018 semester. Inclusion on these lists requires students to meet rigorous grade-point-average standards specific to the college or school within the University.

Four Moultrie-area students were recognized on the Dean’s List:

• Rosemary Cooper, junior, College of Liberal Arts, Moultrie.

• Nicholas Cordista, senior, School of Engineering, Moultrie.

• Evan Gambill, sophomore, School of Engineering, Moultrie.

• Edith Pidcock, junior, College of Liberal Arts, Pavo.

Graduates

MACON, Ga. — Mercer University conferred bachelor’s, master’s and doctoral degrees to nearly 2,200 students representing 12 schools and colleges at four ceremonies during May in Macon and Atlanta.

Two Norman Park students received their degrees:

• Steven Schroeder, School of Engineering, Bachelor of Science in Engineering.

• Abbie Weeks, School of Engineering, Bachelor of Science in Engineering.

Piedmont College

Dean’s Scholars

DEMOREST, Ga. — Two Moultrie students were named Dean’s Scholars for the recently completed spring semester at Piedmont College.

Garrett Moore, Raley Wallace and the other Dean’s Scholars were recognized for finishing the semester with perfect 4.0 grade point averages.

Ga. Police Academy

FORSYTH, Ga. — Officer Charles Pitts of the Georgia Department of Public Safety completed a RADAR Operator Instructor training course taught by the Georgia Police Academy Division of the Georgia Public Safety Training Center in Forsyth.

The course is designed to prepare the officer to instruct the effectiveness of speed enforcement through the proper and efficient use of police traffic radar speed measurement devices, according to a release from the Georgia Public Safety Training Center.
