The Georgia State Patrol said Taylor was the driver of a 2002 Volkswagen Beetle involved in a wreck about 9:48 p.m. Saturday.

The GSP said the car was heading north on Mitchell County Line Road when it failed to stop at the stop sign at Highway 37. The car ran off the north side of Highway 37 and hit a ditch. It went into the woods and overturned.

Taylor, who was taken by helicopter to Tallahassee Memorial, was charged with DUI-alcohol (less safe), failure to stop at a stop sign, failure to maintain lane, open container and driving in violation of license restrictions.

The GSP couldn’t say whether he was wearing a seat belt or not.
