MOULTRIE, Ga. — A Quitman man and a woman from Valdosta were embarked on an impressive shopping spree on Monday, but it ended with the two when police arrested them on shoplifting charge.
At about 10:15 a.m. police were dispatched to the 641 Veterans Parkway S. Wal-Mart store after receiving a call that two females had stolen an air conditioner and an hover board. During a search of the area police detained Locoaster Denise King and the juvenile girl at nearby businesses as well as two men who had been seen nearby in a white car.

Police located the two men and a girl in a nearby restaurant. One officer chased down King, who was outside and tried to run from them, and detained her as well.
As the investigation continued police learned that one of the males had nothing to do with the shoplifting of property valued at $545. He eventually was released.
Inside the white car the air conditioner and hover board could be seen in the back seat, police said. In addition, there was an unopened DVD player reportedly stolen from Walgreens in Valdosta.
In the trunk officers found a Husqvarna backpack blower, Troy-Bilt weed trimmer and a Black & Decker cordless saw and drill set. Police later learned that those items also had been stolen.
King, 40, 1701 Ellis Drive, Valdosta, and Kendal Shivantaye Reid, 23, 250 Baker St., Quitman, were each charged with theft by shoplifting. King also was charged with obstruction of a police officer and giving false information or false name to police.
The girl was taken to police department to wait for her mother. Reports did not say whether she was charged in connection with the theft.
