MOULTRIE – A man who was told he couldn’t buy a beer with his $2 decided to take it on credit instead, exiting a convenience store early Friday morning with a package of 30 brews.

An employee at Murphy Oil USA, 505 Veterans Parkway S., reported Friday that the man came in at about 2:02 a.m. and exited when told he did not have enough money. A few minutes later he came back inside and told the employee, “I will get you tomorrow” – apparently indicating he would return the next day with the money – as he walked out with a 30-pack of Budweiser beer.

The man then left in a small black truck, the employee told police.

Police were not aware that the man ever returned to pay for the beer.

The employee told police that the woman purchased a bottle of Canadian Leaf liquor earlier in the day, then returned at 2:27 p.m. claiming that she had walked out without the bottle for which she paid in cash.

When the employee told the woman that she had taken the bottle on her first stop the woman took a bottle of the same brand from the shelf and walked out.
