TIFTON — Residents and visitors to Tifton were able to meet and mingle with deputies from the Tift County Sheriff’s Office at Starbucks during Coffee with a Cop on June 22.

Captain Dennis Reese and Captain Wingate Whitley, the organizers, were on hand to talk with attendees.

Reese handed out goody bags with toys and other treats for kids, and a restored vintage patrol car was available for people to look at and take pictures.

Coffee with a Cop is a national initiative supported by the United States Department of Justice. Similar events took place across the country to advance and improve community policing by improving the relationships between police officers and community members.
