City meeting canceled

The Moultrie City Council meeting scheduled for July 3 has been canceled.

All-night prayer

Seedtime and Harvest Church, 1155 Sixth St. S.E., is inviting area churches to participate in its Community All-Night Prayer. Churches are asked to come and pray for at least one hour between 7 p.m. Friday, June 15, and 7 a.m. Saturday, June 16.

The theme of the prayer is “Effectual Fervent Prayers of Christians.”

The Rev. Charles and Mary Hadley are pastors.

Health seminar

The John W. Whitaker Laymen of Mother Easter Baptist Church will have a health seminar at 6 p.m. Thursday, June 14, in the Hopkins Fellowship Hall. Carla Jordon, R.N., of Colquitt Regional Medical Center, will present, a diabetes program, and Bertha Rojas, a Colquitt County Extension agent, will present a program on healthy eating.

MHS Class of 1954

The Moultrie High School Class of ‘54 Monthly Social Gathering will be 5 p.m. Friday, June 15, at Lost Creek Steak and Seafood Restaurant in Sale City. In order to reserve enough space for everyone, it is very important that you let organizers know if you plan to attend. Please contact Jerry Little or Laura Anne Ackley.

Staggerwing Country Jamboree

The Staggerwing Country Jamboree is every Friday night at 7 p.m. at Spence Field in Maule Pilot lounge at the lake hangar. It offers round and line dancing and the music is provided by new band leader Luke Folsom and by other specials. Admission is free and there is no drinking.
