MOULTRIE, Ga. — With seven of Colquitt County’s 19 precincts reporting, Denver Braswell of Lenox is leading incumbent Terry Clark of Moultrie in the race for Colquitt County Commission chairman.
Braswell has 971 votes to Clark’s 610.
While today’s election is to determine the Republican nominee for the chairman’s post, no Democrat qualified; tonight’s winner will face no opposition in the November general election.
In the Board of Education race for District 3, incumbent Patricia Anderson leads Charlton Tyler, 193 to 165. The board of education race is non-partisan, so the winner tonight will take office in January.
Results are not yet available for the County Commission District 1 race which has five people running as Democrats. The winner will face Stacey Williams, who ran in the Republican primary with no opposition.
