Teen charged over broken cell phone

MOULTRIE, Ga. — A broken cell phone landed a Funston teen-ager in jail on Tuesday.

Ni’Javious Curshon Brown, 18, 599 Funston-Sigsbee Road, Funston, was charged Tuesday with criminal trespass and probation violation.

Brown was arrested after Danasia Titus reported that Brown broke her Apple iPhone 6 in the 1300 block of U.S. Highway 310 North. Titus told police that Brown then ran toward his sister’s residence.

Police found Brown in the bed of a pickup truck at another mobile home lot a short distance away.

• Brenda Palomares, 500 block Cool Springs Road, Norman Park, reported Monday the theft of 21 single beds and 25 mattresses with a total value of $2,000 from the 2500 block of Ellenton-Norman Park Road.

• Michael Whidby, 48, reported Tuesday the theft of property valued at $3,300 from the 100 block of Sunset Circle.

• Maricela Duvergel, 1900 block Garden Villa Drive, reported Tuesday the theft of her child’s bicycle valued at $80.

• Ellis Gudes Jr., 60, reported Tuesday the theft of a bicycle valued at $79 in the 500 block of South Main Street.

• McKenna Brite Clayton reported Tuesday the theft of an Apple iPhone 6, valued at $500, that she left in a restroom at Colquitt County High School, 105 Darbyshire Road.

• Angelia Williamson, 400 block South Morris Road, reported Tuesday the theft of insurance documents from her closet.

• Erica Daniels, 200 block Second Street Northwest, reported Tuesday that a male companion pulled her to the ground, causing a cut to her leg, during an argument.

Police arrested a 36-year-old male.

• Clinton Lee Peterson, 74, reported Tuesday that a female acquaintance altered a check that he had given her to pay a bill for him.
