MOULTRIE, Ga. — The Moultrie Senior Center staff invites the public to join them in celebration of Older Americans Month 9:45-11 a.m. Friday, May 11.
The invitation is being extended by each of the facilities operated by the SOWEGA Council on Aging, totaling 14 counties in Southwest Georgia.
Every May, the Administration on Aging leads the nation’s observance of Older Americans Month. Originated by President John F. Kennedy in 1963, the month has historically been a time to acknowledge the contributions of older persons in our country.
“We will have our normal Bingo for that day at 10 a.m,” said Moultrie Senior Center Director Peggy Duncan, “plus drumming, which is a very exciting way to engage in musical instruments and is pretty much a rhythm interaction. Much fun!”
The center will also be serving refreshments, she said.
The center is located at 17 First Ave. S.W. For more information, call 985-8006.
