MOULTRIE, Ga. — A Colquitt County man got his stolen stuff back and collared the suspect after chasing a teen-ager through some woods.
After noticing a broken window when she got home to her residence in the 200 block of Connell Road, Amanda Stripling saw a male with a black backpack walking across a field across the road.
She called her husband, Ashley Stripling, who was nearby and got home quickly enough that the suspect still was in the area.
Ashley Stripling “chased him across a pond dam and into woods where he (suspect) got tangled on some vines,” sheriff’s reports said. Ashley Stripling drove the teen, identified as Sage Allman, back to his residence, which is on the same road as Allman’s residence.
Allman was cooperative when deputies arrived, and pointed out where he had tossed the backpack and other property, including two HP Pavilion laptop computers, two Kindle Fire table computers, a Samsung cell phone, $250, a Nike backpack, pair of cotton gloves and a large flat-head screwdriver.
The estimated value of the stolen items was $3,229.
Police charged Allman, 17, 122 Connell Road, with burglary.
