Mobley scores three in last inning to defeat Jay Strickland

MOULTRIE, Ga. – Mobley Plant scored three runs in the bottom of the sixth inning to deal Jay Strickland Motors its first 10U baseball loss of the season on Thursday at the Magnolia Sports Complex.
Jay Strickland Motors, which had an 8-0 record heading into the game, took an 11-9 lead after scoring a pair of runs in the top of the sixth.
But Mobley scored three runs in the bottom of the inning, with a Hayden Glass grounder scoring Bowen DeRosso with the winning run in the 12-11 victory.
With the victory, Mobley raises its record to 6-1.
DeRosso and Adam Beverly each had three hits and Glass, Gavin Kimbrell and Kaden King each had two for Mobley’s.
Kane Morris and Blayden Gay each had three hits and Logan Morris, Hayes Bradley and Zain Vaughn each had two for Jay Strickland Motors.
In Thursday’s other 10U game, Edward Jones knocked off Lazarus 11-4.
Jake Walker and Jamaal Jackson each went 3-for-3 and Michael Hall, Harrison Brown and Hardin Reeves each had two hits for Edward Jones, now 4-3.
Carter Summerlin had two hits for Lazarus.
In 8U games on Thursday, Edward Jones defeated Baell’s 13-3 and Larry’s Bait and Tackle knocked off Stone’s 15-5.
In 14U on Thursday, Team Miley escaped Team Dalton with a 7-6 victory.
Eli Roundtree got the win. Chasyn Miley also pitched.
Miley, Roundtree and Mason Bass each had two hits and scored two runs for Team Miley. Will Snipes, Will Bishop, Weston Roundtree, Bradon Kelley and Swayne Burnham each had one hit.
For Team Dalton, Tyler Owens and Dalton Fillyaw each had two hits and Gaven Steptoe, Michael Clark and Eli Gay each had one hit.
Also in 14U, Team Stanfill won over Team Wells 8-2
Hayes Lightsey was the winning pitcher and he, Jardee Williams, Thomas Propst and Gary Hill had hits for Team Stanfill.
Pershan Fann had a hit and scored both of Team Wells’ runs.
In 12U, Goodno Electric got by Hutchinson-Traylor 9-7 in Thursday’s other 14U game and remains unbeaten at 7-0-1.
Isaiah Rhymes was the winning pitcher and helped himself at the plate, going 3-for-3 and scoring a pair of runs.
Kayden Gunn, Jaxon Chambers and Kenyan Soloman each had two hits and Rylan Howell, Jeremiah Boyd and C.J. Bryant each had one for Goodno Electric.
Eli Hannah, Hunter Horne, Joshua Peachey and Logan Brinkley had two hits and Ja’Den Williams, Logan Strickland, Clayton Hutto and Harrison Powell each had one for Hutchinson-Traylor.
In Thursday’s other 12U game, Zaxby’s edged Southwest Georgia Insurance 2-1 behind the pitching of Cam Cook and Asher Cox.
Cox, Macon Craig, Alex Nelms and Bo Bennett had hits for Zaxby’s. Daniel Johnson had two hits and Neko Fann and Ethan Allegood each had one for Southwest Georgia Insurance.
