MOULTRIE, Ga. — The C.A. Gray Junior High School media center held its annual Edible Book Fair on Tuesday, April 23.
Staff and students alike used their creativity to visually represent any book with an edible interpretation. Many participants chose to bake their own creations like the first place winner in the Classics category – LeAnna Gay. Gay used fondant for the first time with the help of her mom and achieved beautiful results.
Other entries, like that of Jack Perry, were a little more “outside the box.”
Twenty-eight projects were entered this year across the five judged categories. Visiting classes to the media center voted on the People’s Choice award throughout the day by using tokens; tokens were tallied at the end of the day to declare winners in this delicious popularity contest category.
All participants attended an awards ceremony during seventh period where trophies, ribbons, and goodies were shared.
Chic-fil-A of Moultrie’s Jordan Hammack provided door prizes, and Publix bakery manager Katie Wells delivered treats. Both ladies also served as judges alongside parent volunteer Lisa Perry.
