MOULTRIE, Ga. — Police are seeking a suspect who is accused of attacking two men outside their Southeast Moultrie residence.
Police were dispatched at about 7:33 p.m. to the residence of Tony Thornton, 700 block Sixth Street Southeast, who reported that an assailant had attacked his son, T. Thornton.
Tony Thornton heard a horn outside, and thinking it was someone who wanted his son woke T. Thornton up and told him to walk outside. When T. Thornton walked onto the porch a man got out of a blue Chevrolet Impala and began hitting him in the face.
When Tony Thornton went outside to assist his son the man hit him in the abdominal area.
T. Thornton, who had a bloody lip, told police that he knew his attacker. He said that the man is dating his former girlfriend and “did not like” that he formerly had dated the woman.
Both men told police that they want to prosecute their attacker. Warrants will be issued for his arrest, police said.
In an unrelated violent incident, Frank Pinion reported being struck in the head, apparently with an object, at about 11:30 p.m. Wednesday.
Pinion, 48, told police that he was playing dominoes and drinking alcohol at his 303 Second Ave. N.W. residence when a man began “saying things to him.” While they were in the street, Pinion reported, the man hit him in the head.
Police reports did not note any injuries to him.
Pinion also told police that there was an active warrant for his arrest.
After confirming that there was an arrest warrant, police took him into custody on a charge of probation violation.
