Dog house among items stolen

MOULTRIE, Ga. — A dog house, four-wheeler, potted plants, bicycles and a meal at a restaurant were among the things that caught thieves’ fancy in recent days.

John Willie Lewis, 500 block Sixth Street Northwest, reported Friday the theft of his dog house valued at $250 from his yard.

Lewis told police that the dog house was taken while he was at work.

In other thefts

• Janet McCardle, 900 block Fourth Avenue Northeast, reported Saturday that someone stole five potted plants from outside her residence while she was in the shower.

McCardle told police that her son saw a car pull into the driveway and a skinny male put the flower pots in the car before driving away. The value of the plants, which included a tall cactus pot and two snake plants, was unknown.

• Hoot Wireless, 1812 First Ave. S.W., reported Saturday that a male shoplifter stole merchandise valued at $650.

• Waffle House, 1908 First Ave. S.E., reported Sunday that a man let without paying for a meal valued at $15.22.

An employee told police that the man was one of three customers in a group and that the other two paid for their food.

• Lonnie Holland, 43, reported Sunday that someone siphoned gasoline from his 1997 Nissan truck parked in the 2100 block of First Avenue Southeast.

• Ralph Baker, 1000 block 12th Street Southeast, reported Sunday the theft of two fishing rods of unknown value and a chain saw valued at $200.

Police initially were called to the area when a neighbor, Francisco Sanchez, reported a suspicious person at about 7 p.m. Sanchez told police that a man who appeared to be drunk stumbled into his yard. Sanchez told the man to leave, and as he was walking away Sanchez thought he saw him take something from a neighbor’s property.

Baker was not there at the time, but reported the missing items after he returned.

• Michele Christopher, 600 block Fifth Street Southeast, reported Sunday the theft of a Huffy Mongoose 12-speed bicycle valued at $150.

• Ashley Roberts, 100 block Belleville Drive, reported Sunday the theft of an all terrain vehicle valued at $4,000 and other property valued at $350.

• Gary Robinson, 200 block Grass Farm Road, Norman Park, reported Saturday that a female acquaintance stole a laptop computer, clothing and medical supplies with a total value of $830.

Robinson told police that the woman had been arrested in Tift County and that police recovered the laptop at that time.

• Sonja Allen, 100 block Thompson Road, reported Friday that someone stole a check belonging to Larry Allen, her nephew, and cashed in Quitman.

• Doris Davis, 1100 block South Boulevard, reported Sunday the theft of a bicycle valued at $632.

• Joanny Lynn Tyson, 41, 833 Circle Road, was charged Thursday with burglary, driving while tag suspended and driving with suspended or revoked license.

• Shannon Lee Wilkerson, 35, 816 Laura St., Adel, was charged Saturday with criminal trespass and theft by shoplifting.

• Victoria Brannon, 31, 519 Hemp Springs Circle, Adel, was charged Saturday with theft by shoplifting.

• L.C. Shepheard, 100 block Ninth Avenue Northwest, reported Friday an incident of fraudulent accounts showing up on her credit report.

Other investigations

Sheriff’s Office

• A deputy responded at 6:55 p.m. Saturday to a report of shots fired in the 1400 block of Sardis Church Road from a white Chrysler 300.

The officer recovered two .45-caliber shell casings along the roadway.
